Founder & CEO
Michael Gilmartin was born in Dublin way back in the 60’s... (late 60’s). He moved to Edinburgh as a child with his large family and apart from a stint living in Japan has conducted most of his professional career in the UK. He has worked for a range of business from large US corporates to small Scottish concerns dealing in sectors from Finance and Energy to Hospitality and Technology.
He is a founding Director of Dufrain Consulting a business that was started on the basis of offering clients a consultancy service that was easy to deal with and technically head and shoulders above the rest of the market. He strives for the perfect business relationship where the client and Dufrain work together in perfect harmony and where both parties help each other succeed.

Director - Credit Risk Analysis
Darren joins Dufrain to lead our Risk practice proposition and arrives with 15 years of Credit Risk modelling and analytical experience in the Banking sector.
Darren previously worked for a range of high street Banks and most recently with Tesco Bank as their Head of Modelling. His experience encompasses credit scorecards, IRB and IFRS9 programmes as well as model and strategy solutions across a range of functional areas including Credit Risk, Financial Crime, Collections, Recoveries, Provisions and bad debt forecasting. Prior to a career in Financial Services, Darren worked as an engineer in the Semiconductor industry across a range of disciplines including process improvement and optimisation.
Darren’s career, in both Engineering and Risk, has focussed on harvesting data opportunities to deliver solutions to improve the business.
Head of Emerging Technologies
Paul believes that the ethical use of technology should be the first port of call for the toughest business and social challenges. This commitment, which has guided Paul through a successful career in Data Analytics within several top companies in their sectors, fuels his drive for leading the Emerging Technologies Practice at Dufrain, which focuses on the business adoption of the next generation analytics, helping executives, analysts and subject-matter experts get insight from their data.
Paul has nearly 20 years of experience in consulting, developing significant expertise in Enterprise and Data Architecture. He also has more than 15 years’ of development, design and architecture expertise in modern platforms and technologies that include, Data Warehouses and BI, Enterprise Software, and database modelling.
