Tell us a little bit about what you do?
At Dufrain, I work as a Solutions Architect, focusing on building scalable, governed data platforms. My role sits at the intersection of data engineering, data governance, and AI enablement. I work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, making sure data is secure, reliable, and genuinely usable for decision-making. What I really enjoy is that it’s not just about building a solution, it’s about helping teams, understanding what they need, and supporting them through it.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Problem-solving is one of the best parts of my job – along with the culture and, of course, working with people. I speak to a lot of stakeholders, and I really enjoy taking something complex and breaking it down so others can understand it, whether they are technical or non-technical. That mix of challenge, collaboration, and clarity is what makes the work so enjoyable for me.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I’m an early riser, so I like to start my day with yoga or meditation, which helps me stay grounded and focused. Work-wise, my day is usually a mix of design discussions, architectural reviews, stakeholder conversations, and hands-on problem-solving. I also try to block out time for deep thinking because architecture is not just about execution – it’s about clarity, and especially long-term thinking.
Which of our company values resonate with you the most?
“Be ourselves” really resonates with me. I believe people perform at their best when they feel psychologically safe and able to be authentic. That is something I’ve genuinely found at Dufrain. When I was going through something difficult in my personal life, Dufrain really stood by me – it was incredibly kind and made such a difference. It helped me bring better ideas, be myself at work, and bring out the best in myself.
What would you say has been your most significant achievement or the one you are most proud of whilst working at Dufrain?
Professionally, I’m proud of delivering my recent project where I led architectural discussions that balanced governance and innovation – especially in an AI-led use case where compliance really mattered. Personally, I’m proud of continuously upskilling, stepping into more strategic roles, and completing a few certifications. Growth matters a lot to me.
Who inspires you the most within Dufrain and outside of Dufrain?
Within Dufrain, I don’t think it’s just one person. My capability lead, Junaid, inspires me a lot. And there are also amazing women like Victoria and Kate – and I work with Rathi as well. Their experience, support, and the way they help others has really inspired me. These are the people who feel like pillars for me at Dufrain. Outside of work, it’s definitely my husband. He has been everything for me – he inspires me daily, supports me in reaching my goals, and is a real pillar in my life.
Which work benefit or perk is your favourite and why?
Flexibility. There is a lot of flexibility at Dufrain, especially when it comes to balancing personal life and professional life. Dufrain has supported me a lot in managing both – including during some health issues. Having autonomy over how and where I work helps me maintain balance, and it also makes me more productive. I really value the flexibility, and how supportive people are around it.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?
Be curious. Listen first, understand the culture, and you will bring out the best in yourself. Take advice, learn from the people around you, and stay open. This is the kind of place where, if you take ownership, you can really shape your own path.
What skill do you think everyone should learn?
Communication. Technical skills are important, but the ability to articulate ideas clearly, especially in complex data environments, is what really differentiates people. As a consultant, communication is one of the most important parts of the role.
What are some of your favourite things to do outside of work?
I love travelling, and I also paint. Travelling lets me experience new cultures and gives me perspective and creativity. I enjoy mandala painting too – it’s calming and helps me express myself. Yoga and meditation are also part of my routine, and they help me stay balanced, even in high-pressure environments.
Top Movie?
Finding Dory. I really like it, I’m a big animation fan. The one line I always remember is “just keep swimming”. For me, it’s a reminder to keep going, stay with the flow, and keep moving forward.
