Tell us a little bit about what you do?
I’m a Senior Consultant at Dufrain and currently act as our Fabric expert. I’ve spent time across multiple clients, helping to build proof‑of‑concepts and full data platforms. Right now, I’m supporting a client to debug and improve their Fabric platform.
Alongside client delivery, I also contribute internally by helping to develop reusable code and accelerators. The aim is to take what we learn across different clients and apply it elsewhere, so we can help teams build effective data platforms more quickly.
Can you tell us a few details about the favourite part of your job?
It’s definitely the people. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping others improve what they do. Teaching, supporting, and enabling others is the highlight of my day.
I also enjoy improving toolsets and processes, designing things that help the organisation work more effectively and make people’s day‑to‑day work easier.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My day usually starts fairly simply, get up, have breakfast, turn the computer on, and get started. From there, it depends on what I’m working on.
That could be client work, solving technical problems, or designing solutions, alongside internal work where I help develop tools and reusable resources that others at Dufrain can use. No two days are exactly the same, which keeps things interesting.
Which company value resonates with you the most?
We succeed together, it reflects how I like to work with other people and how I approach supporting others across the organisation. For me, that means taking the time to help each other learn and improve, even when there isn’t an immediate payoff.
What would you say has been your most significant achievement or the one you are most proud of whilst working at Dufrain?
I think mine is designing the engineering for a full Fabric data platform, including logging and retry behaviours.
Who inspires you the most within Dufrain?
Inside Dufrain, David Armstrong. His attitude towards supporting and helping people really inspires me and encourages me to do the same for others.
Which work benefit or perk is your favourite and why?
It has to be flexibility. Dufrain allows us to work from home and the office, and for our schedules to flex where possible around client commitments.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?
What skill do you think everyone should learn?
Empathy.
You know quite a few languages, how many do you know? What’s your secret to learning a language?
What’s your top book or movie?
I’d absolutely recommend Dune, both the books and the films. What I really love about them is the depth. The books explore complex themes like politics in a very thoughtful way, and while that’s hard to fully capture on screen, I think the films do an excellent job of distilling it down to the core of the story.
Denis Villeneuve’s interpretation stays true to the spirit of the books while still creating something visually incredible. Both films are genuinely impressive to watch and, in my view, absolutely worth it.
