Employee spotlight: Jacqui Doyle

Thanks to Jacqui Doyle for sharing her experiences and the values that drive her at Dufrain. Jacqui is our Talent Acquisition Lead, focused on optimising talent attraction strategies and bringing innovative approaches to recruiting top-tier talent. Read her thoughts below on the challenges and rewards of her role, what inspires her, and her journey at Dufrain.

1. Tell us a little bit about what you do

I am the Talent Acquisition Lead and my role involves optimising talent attraction strategies as well as designing and implementing innovative approaches that will attract top-tier talent to Dufrain. I believe that people are our most valuable asset in any organisation.

2. What do you enjoy most about your job

I enjoy meeting and speaking to people and getting to know what motivates them and makes them tick.  In my role it’s really important to build trusting relationships and develop internal and external networks.

3. What does a typical day look like for you?

Lots of meetings throughout the day speaking to prospect candidates, 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholders.

I am hands-on with delivering an end-to-end recruitment service which primarily focuses on high demanding technical skill across our core data capabilities, commercial and business support roles.

I also undertake market research and analyse market trends. This really plays a crucial role in understanding talent pool viability and emerging technical skills in demand which helps with our recruitment strategies.

4. Which of our company values resonate with you the most

“Be ourselves”. At Dufrain we respect and value differences and appreciate
the variety of strengths and experiences. This runs close with my moral compass where respecting one another and embracing our differences positively. Being empowered to share my thoughts and ideas and being encouraged to have a voice and share my own opinions allows me to “Thrive in Work” which is another one of our company values.

5. What would you say has been your most significant achievement or the one you are most proud of whilst working at Dufrain?

A personal achievement that I am most proud of is achieving the CIPD Associate qualification. Lots of gruelling long hours went into this while working full time. The mentoring, support, direction and praise I got from my team really made the difference in believing in myself. I can now continue to develop my career at Dufrain with this in my toolbox.

6. Who inspires you the most within Dufrain?

Charlotte Lester, our fantastic HR Advisor, inspires me with her professionalism, enthusiasm, resilience and work ethic. She breeds positivity and is everyone’s cheerleader. I am very fortunate to work closely with Charlotte and when she takes something on, she fully commits and throws everything at it, this is very inspiring.

7. Which work benefit or perk is your favourite and why?

Us Dufrainain’s are lucky to have a great range of benefits and perks. I am really excited about the launch of a new benefit which is the electric car scheme. My husband and I have been considering this for a while but are still nervous about changing, having no experience with electric cars. The package through salary sacrifice we have at Dufrain covers everything you can think of and will give us the confidence and reassurance that it’s time to go electric.

8. What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for us?

I like the phrase “you don’t know what you don’t know” and it’s ok, that doesn’t phase me, I see it as an opportunity. I would advise someone joining us to explore and ask questions, use it as a learning opportunity. Dufrainian’s have a great sense of willingness to help and share their knowledge.

9. What skill do you think everyone should learn?

Emotional intelligence I believe is really important to help us communicate effectively, build trusted relationships and be resilient. I have been recommended to read the book Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More Than IQ by Daniel Goleman so I will give that a bash. I openly welcome any other recommendations on articles or books on this topic.

10. What are some of your favourite things to do outside of work?

I am a mum to a daughter and 2 sons who all keep me busy outside of work. If I am not offering a taxi service, I am a football mum cheering on from the sideline.  “Me time” is enjoyed by reading books, crime thriller novels are my favourite. But holidays are my all-time favourite thing to do, I love to plan out a staycation or vacation, I drive my husband crazy with my next big idea!
