1. Tell us a little bit about what you do

I’m a senior consultant at Dufrain and currently work on redress and remediation for a leading UK bank. Internally, I am part of our people and engagement group, where I lead the concepts and initiatives, and I also lead our marketing group and am passionate about supporting the building of our brand. Alongside this, I’m actively involved in our Empower women’s network and the BI operations working group.

2. What is your favourite part of your job?

The best part of my job is being able to mentor consultants to help them progress and grow, both on client sites and within Dufrain.

3. What does a typical day look like for you?

Varied! Usually, there is a full day of client work which involves liaising with stakeholders, supporting other colleagues with day-to-day queries, and managing ad hoc queries and project workloads. Wherever I have time and space in the day, I will change hats and work on marketing, people development or our Empower group.

4. Which company value resonates with you the most?

People pillar. I love working with people because of the human skills aspect of the role and the creativity that brings, whilst also enjoying watching other people succeed.

5. What would you say has been your most significant achievement whilst working at Dufrain?

I’m most proud of being promoted from consultant to senior consultant and leading a project with a major bank to successful completion.

6. Who inspires you the most within Dufrain?

There are two people. Firstly, Mel Gibson, one of our project managers, is always there whenever you need her. As well as being very methodical and precise, she is a wonderful person to work with. The second person is Sean Kenny, one of our senior managers, as his career progression within Dufrain has been amazing and something I aspire towards. He is always there for me and has supported me on my own career path, for which I’m very grateful.

7. Which work benefit is your favourite and why?

The private health insurance because not only has it lifted a weight off my shoulders, but it has also opened up lots of avenues for me that may have been inaccessible before.

8. What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work for Dufrain?

To be authentic and be yourself. Don’t be afraid to put yourself forward, get out there, meet team members and immerse yourself in the culture.

9. What skill do you think everyone should learn?

Presentation skills. Being able to analyse data isn’t enough, you must be able to tell the story behind it.

10. What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?

I used to be a competitive GB sprinter before becoming a competitive CrossFit athlete! Whilst at university, I had to have an operation which meant I couldn’t compete in sprinting at the same level, so I turned to competitive CrossFit to ensure I’m still meeting my fitness goals. It also means I can back squat better than anyone in the company – bonus!
