This payment provider had an external review of their data management maturity undertaken.
The review defined high and medium priority gaps that must be met, though with no information about how these should be closed out.
Dufrain were engaged to understand the outputs of the review, define a set of work packages which when delivered would satisfy a subsequent review by the 3rd party to show the gaps were being closed.
the solution
Dufrain undertook an initial 2-week discovery to understand the current landscape and gap analysis.
We defined a roadmap of activities to address the gaps ranging from: Data Management Policy writing & implementation; unstructured data scanning, housekeeping and migration; RBAC security review and re-implementation, data owner identification and training
the outcome
We successfully implemented the data management policy and migrated unstructured data from their on-premise network drives into a Microsoft office environment. We utilised PurView to apply data lifecycle management policies, document classification and PII scanning and screening.
This mitigated their GDPR risk and unlocked the capability for safe AI adoption and automation use cases to be delivered utilising the unstructured data that was now safely stored and accessible through Azure Foundry.
