Covéa Insurance wanted to thrive in a competitive market by becoming a truly data-driven organisation.
Covéa Insurance is the UK subsidiary of Covéa Group, a European leader in insurance and reinsurance. The team began a data transformation project as the existing data infrastructure posed significant challenges. While they had an early-stage data lake, data was streamed with limited transformation and homogenisation, making it difficult to extract real value.
Additionally, data quality issues undermined trust, resulting in conflicting reports and limited decision-making capabilities. To move forward, Covéa needed to streamline data processes, improve data availability and ensure business users could easily access and trust the insights provided without always relying on experienced data engineers.

Covéa conducted an RFI process to select a trusted partner. Dufrain stood out for their sector experience and collaborative, goal-oriented approach.
Dufrain designed a modern data architecture built on Databricks, introducing Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers to transform data delivery and drive business value.
A centralised, prioritised wish list of business use cases was created to guide development, forming the roadmap for scalable data ingestion and transformation.
